Miga iNiTiator-062-008
The Miga iNiTiator-062, provides 0.062" of travel and over 2.5 pounds of latch-release force using 0.008" Miga High Temperature Shape Memory Alloy wire. The extremely lightweight iNiTiators are intended for applications where a high-reliability, low weight, and highly compact actuator is required to release a loaded spring, for example, such as drone release systems, or high pressure cylinder piercing systems.
The iNiTiator-062 PCB is 2.025" long x 1.25" wide x 0.062" thick, and the very thin profile is maintained by using a 0.017" diameter AdrenaLine™ wire return 'spring'. The iNiTiator-062 weighs just 0.22 ounces, yielding a force:weight ratio up to 400:1.
The iNiTiator can be customized for longer stroke or higher forces as required, and provides a reusable high speed (~80 ms) release mechanism using 3.7-7.4v LiPo batteries.
