Miga S125-NC-008 SMA Actuator

The S125-NC-008 is a volume-ready SMA wire actuator, identical to the S125, but without the MOSFET switching & protection circuitry. The ideal uses are as latch- or trigger- release mechanisms for battery-powered devices.

The S125 provides a stroke of 0.125" (3.2mm) and up to 2.0 pounds of force, but weighs less than 0.16 oz. (4.5 grams), providing a Force-to-Weight ratio of over 200:1. The overall envelope is 3.75 x 0.5 x 0.12” (95.25 x 12.5 x 3.18mm).

The S125 has a 3-pin (0.1") connector with Voltage (+V), End Switch (ESW), and Ground (GD). To protect the SMA wire from overheating, power should be cut the moment the End Contact is reached. The operating voltage range is 2.5 to 12 volts.

We recommend using a Miga MADv5 or similar circuit in conjunction with this actuator, or using a microprocessor to provide the safety features of the MOSFET power monitoring circuitry.
